Women who sexually offend : a profile and program outcome study / Kayla A. Wanamaker … [et al.].: PS83-3/416E-PDF

"Women sex offenders (WSOs) make up a small proportion of any offender population. Given the gravity of the criminal offence and the impact on victims, understanding the characteristics and criminogenic needs of WSOs is important in order to design and implement appropriate interventions. The Women Sex Offender Program (WSOP) is offered as part of Correctional Service Canada’s (CSC’s) Continuum of Care. The aims of the current study were: (1) to expand on previous research by examining the profile of WSOs, including demographic information, background history, offence and sentence characteristics, and risk/need information, and outcomes on release, and (2) to assess the treatment gains for those completing the WSOP and examine their outcomes on release"--Executive summary, p. iii.
