Discouraged and additional workers revisited / by Tom Siedule and Keith Newton.: EC22-3/1979-141E-PDF
"This paper attempts to gauge the magnitude of hidden unemployment in Canada by estimating the numbers of additional and discouraged workers. Participation rate equations are estimated for ten age-sex groups for the periods October 1955 to June 1971 and July 1971 to December 1975, respectively. Specification of the economic activity variable in these equations permits conclusions to be drawn about the different patterns of participation response of the various groups"--Summary.
