5203 |a"This report describes an interlaboratory study for the analysis of ten heavy metals in five different sediment reference materials. Over 40 Canadian laboratories participated in the study. The ”total” content, as expected, was greater than the "extractable” content for each of the metals studied (Al, Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, V, and Zn). The ratio of "total" to ”extractable’ varied from metal to metal and ranged from 3.5 for Al to 1.02 for Cu."--Abstract.
