"This study is mainly concerned with industrial diversification in the four provinces of Western Canada. We present an empirical and intensive development of one aspect of economic diversification. Our basic approach is borrowed from portfolio analysis of financial investment theory, but only after considerable modification required for the industrial employment application of the study.
