"Dibutyl phthalate is not currently produced in Canada. About 540 tonnes/year are imported, however, for use mainly as a plasticizer in polyvinyl emulsions. Additional dibutyl phthalate may be imported into Canada in plastic products. Dibutyl phthalate is not expected to be persistent in air and water, but may be more persistent in sediments and soil"--Synopsis, page v.
