"This paper examines the cost of production in agriculture in the three prairie provinces for the period 1961 to 1985. This period covers a wide range of price and production levels, including a peak in real wheat prices in the early 1970s that triggered a new production cycle, and the start of the most recent downturn in real wheat prices. The inflation of the late 1970s and early 1980s affected virtually all input prices until the recession of 1981. Land prices were greatly affected"--Abstract, p. iii.
