"Greenhouse gas emissions from buildings account for a large share of Canada’s overall emissions. When emissions associated with the electricity generated for use in homes and buildings are included, building emissions in Canada add up to about 111 million tonnes of greenhouse gases, or 17% of the country’s total emissions"--Executive Summary, p. 10.
