Nuclear spectrometric determination of uranium isotopes without use of radiochemical yield monitors / Joshi, S.R.: En13-5/86-50E-PDF
"The common procedures for the determination of uranium isotopes in environment require the addition of an artificially-produced uranium isotope. Three such radioisotopes are commercially available. Besides being expensive, the addition of such isotopes is not desired in cases where the influence of nuclear activities is under investigation. In order to circumvent this problem, a technique has been developed whereby uranium isotopic concentrations are determined by a combination of gamma-ray and alpha-particle spectrometric assays. The technique has been evaluated for solid samples and is found to give reliable results for samples of widely different composition"--Management perspective.
