"The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance (our committee) has an important role to play on behalf of Parliament and Canadians in examining the federal government's spending plans, as outlined in the main and supplementary estimates. The 2018-19 Main Estimates were tabled in the Senate on April 17, 2018 and referred to the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance for review on April 18, 2018. Our committee tabled its first interim report on the 2018-19 Main Estimates, which examined the estimates of fifteen federal organizations, on June 18, 2018. We decided to continue our examination of the 2018-19 Main Estimates and reviewed the estimates of an additional ten federal organizations who requested a combined total of $15.5 billion in voted appropriations. This report highlights issues discussed during our examination of the main estimates and presents our observations on key concerns facing each organization"--Introd., p. [4].
