520 | |a"This report describes the results of a variety of experiments undertaken in the CANMET/Combustion and Carbonization Research Laboratory (CCRL) tunnel furnace facility for the generation of a data package. This data package is to be used for the validation of sophisticated computer codes that are capable of predicting the conditions inside the furnace during combustion. The report describes several experiments in the tunnel furnace in which low and high-volatile coals were burned at two swirl settings and compared to oil. Also described are the measurement techniques and the reliability of the data.
