In regard to surface geophysics, emphasis is placed on do-it-yourself methods which operate with relatively inexpensive commercial equipment and are easy to use on simple geological structures. Borehole geophysical methods, such as down-hole and intra-hole seismics, require a larger investment in logging equipment and a more complex analysis. Types of equipment are described and guidance is given in assessing possible benefits and costs of borehole logging for open pit sites"--Summary.</marc:subfield>
