| 520 | |a"There were virtually no experimental data in the open literature on atmospheric and sea-water corrosion in the Canadian Arctic prior to January 1973. It appears that there should be at least a minimal amount of data available to design and operating engineers in view of the increasing economic importance of this region and it was decided, therefore, that the Physical Metallurgy Research Laboratories (PMRL) would undertake a limited number of exploratory low-cost tests to determine whether a larger-scale, more systematic program would be both useful and feasible.
