Performance of high-alumina cement concrete stored in water and dry heat at 25, 35 and 50°C / D.H.H. Quon and V.M. Malhotra.M38-13/78-15E-PDF

"High-alumina cement, although not at present manufactured in Canada, is nevertheless frequently used in this country for special applications. Canadian Standards Association Committee A 23.1, Concrete Materials and Methods of Concrete Construction, in Appendix A of its 1977 edition has recommended against the use of this cement for structural purposes because of the recent structural failures associated with its use in England. This investigation is a continuation of the work undertaken in 1975 at CANMET and involves a study of the performance of high-alumina cement stored in water and dry heat at 25°, 35° and 50°C"--Abstract, p. i.
