520 |a"Several indirect methods are presented for simultaneously estimating the component rates for production, diffusion and respiration from evenly spaced (hourly) measurements of dissolved oxygen at a single river station. The procedures allow us to evaluate the adequacy of dissolved oxygen models and particularly the photosynthesis-light relationship. Furthermore, an approach is also given for providing confidence intervals for the estimates of each component. The findings of this paper permit comparing the productivity in different streams or at different stations within the stream, and to evaluate change over time"--Management perspective.
