Bilateral agriculture and agri-food trade has increased more than 1000% since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Mexicans who participated in the Canada-Mexico Seasonal Agricultural Workers’ Program sent $195 M in remittances home to their families in 2017. Canadian and Mexican scientists work together to combat climate change and to develop new practices to advance the use of science in the agriculture sector.
