"The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, announced today the appointment of an expert panel to examine ways to help parents save for the long-term financial security of a child with a severe disability. Plans to establish the panel were announced in Budget 2006. 'An important consideration for parents of a child with a severe disability is how best to ensure the financial security of their child when they are no longer able to provide support,' Minister Flaherty said. The panel will examine a range of potential savings vehicles, assess their relative advantages and disadvantages, and recommend the most appropriate measures. ...
