A midpacific squall line / J.E. Thomas, meteorologist.: En57-44/79-013E-PDF
"On December 7, 1978, during a period of rapid transition from a meridional circulation pattern to a strong zonal flow across the Pacific, a pre-frontal cloud line formed, intensified rapidly, and then dissapated in the matter of a few hours. Since this dramatic change in the general circulation is the subject of another Technical Note, only the cloud line will be discussed here."
