"Beginning in June 2017, following the enactment of the National Strategy for Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias Act, the Public Health Agency of Canada sought to further understand the impacts of dementia in Canada by engaging the six stakeholder groups mentioned in the Act: people living with dementia, family/friend caregivers, representatives of provincial and territorial governments, researchers, health care providers, as well as dementia advocacy groups. This report summarizes what we heard from these stakeholders and is informing the development of a dementia strategy for Canada.
