5200 |a"Beaches are found in all of the Maritime provinces. In general, they are more extensive in the Northumberland Strait where the coast is low-lying and there is a large supply of sediment. Some beaches can be kilometres long, while others might be very small. The beaches of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island are more extensive than the beaches of Nova Scotia. The dunes behind these beaches can also vary. You can find anywhere from one active dune to more than 30, such as on Miscou Island in northern New Brunswick."--page 4.
