"Atmospheric emissions of cadmium from various Canadian sources have been estimated for the year 1972. The data presented in this report are summarized in Table 1 and Figures 1 and 2. Total cadmium emissions to the atmosphere in 1972 are estimated at 560 tons. The largest contributor is the primary copper and nickel industry which accounts for 78.1% of the total. The combustion of fuel in stationary sources accounts for a further 16.9%. On a geographic basis the Province of Quebec, centre of the Canadian primary copper industry, accounts for 75.1% of total cadmium emissions"--Abstract.
