"On July 22, 1980, at approximately 10:15 a.m., a surprise massive lightning outbreak began in the Kamloops Forest Region. By the time it has moved out of the range of the B.C.F.S. Lightning Locator System (L.L.S.) (Ref. Pacific Technical Note by R.O. Duffy, 80-024), over 10,000 cloud to ground lightning strkes had been recorded. ... This report is a description of events on the 22nd."
