"A pre-development survey of water quality and biological conditions in the streams of the Howard's Pass area was conducted in July 1980. Generally, the water chemistry parameters measured showed no anomalies. The bethnic macroinvertebrates and fish sampling results were respresentative of generally clear, unpolluted mountain streams. The high zinc concentrations in the stream sediments sampled reflected the presence of zinc ore deposits in the area"--Abstract.
