"Probability of Precipitation (POP) forecasts were introduced into the regional public forecasts in July of 1982. A verification procedure was devised from the beginning to assess the reliability and credibility of such a program in British Columbia. ... Some forethoughts have also been included in an attempt to put a perspective on POP forecasting in this region."
