"Pursuant to section 74 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA) (Canada 1999), the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Health have conducted a screening assessment of phosphoric acid, tris(methylphenyl) ester, commonly known as tricresyl phosphate or TCP (Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number 1330-78-5). TCP is a substance within the Certain Organic Flame Retardants (OFR) Substance Grouping, which includes organic substances having similar function: application to materials to slow the ignition and spread of fire. This substance was identified as a priority for assessment as they met categorization criteria under subsection 73(1) of CEPA"--Synopsis, page ii.
