"Seven oil spill recovery devices were evaluated in a series of test programs undertaken by the Centre of Spill Technology of the Environmental Emergency Branch. These devices were evaluated on the basis of four parameters: Oil Recovery Rate, the rate at which the device recovers oil; Oil Recovery Factor, the volume of oil recovered by the device versus the volume presented to it; Oil Content Factor, the percentage of oil in the liquid recovered by the device; and Emulsification Factor, the percentage of water in the oil which was recovered by the device"--Abstract.
