520 |a"The applicability of laser fluorosensors in the detection of oil spills in an Arctic environment and the effect of temperature on the fluorescence properties of oils were studied. Oil fluorescence spectral distribution was not affected by temperature. Light refined petroleum products fluoresced more efficiently at low temperatures, whereas crude oils and heavy refined products showed little change. Laser fluorosensor performance was enhanced by lowering the surface temperature"--Abstract.
