"During the summer of 1982 (July 6-Aug. 20) the Prince George Weather Office, at the request of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, participated in a program of issuing 1 to 5 Day forecasts for the Nechako River drainage area. The purpose of these forecasts was to aid in the International Pacific Salmon Fisheries Commission (IPSFC) in it's advice to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans who were planning to order the Aluminum Company of Canada (ALCAN) to increase the flow from the Nechako Reservoir if it became necessary."
