The extraction of strontium from the mineral celestite / Sutarno, R.H. Lake and W.S. Bowman, Mineral Sciences Division.: M38-1/223-1970E-PDF

"Two potential industrial methods of extracting strontium from the mineral celestite were investigated. These are (i) the direct carbonation method and (ii) the solid-state reduction method. Comparison between the two methods from the technical point of view is discussed. Reduction of synthetic strontium sulphate with various reducing agents was also studied in order to reach an understanding of the mechanism of the above processes"--Abstract, page i.
