"The report describes a sophisticated type of image communication system which is similar to computer graphics, and is distinct from the more familiar facsimile transmission. These remote graphics systems are attractive in several economic and social areas, ranging from business management to entertainment. Although their use is not yet widespread, it should increase sharply in the near future. Some of the implications, particularly in entertainment, are disturbing"--Abstract, page ii.
