Analysis and design of microprocessor based front-end for spectrum surveillance systems data transfer in a packet radio mode / Dr. D.C. Coll (Professor), Dr. S.A. Mahmoud (Assistant Professor).: Co24-70/1979E-PDF
"An experimental packet radio transmission system has been constructed in the digital radio communications laboratory of the Department of Systems Engineering and Computing Science, Carleton University. The experimental system consists of two mobile (suitcase form) terminals and a base station. The system allows two users to access, for retrieval and update purposes, a data base which is stored in the minicomputer system of the base station. The terminals communicate with the base station over a random access radio channel. The data transmitted in both directions is in the form of variable length packets. A complete description of the system and its use as an experimental vehicle to investigate several packet radio networks problems is presented"--Abstract, page ii.
