Jointly sponsored by the Newfoundland Department of Provincial Affairs and Environment and Environment Canada, the seminar dealt with an important aspect of solid waste management known as volume reduction. The two principal methods of volume reduction, compaction and shredding, were discussed by speakers chosen for their many years of experience in their respective fields"--Abstract.
