520 |a"A collaborative research between the National Water Research Institute and the City of Toronto on the occurrence of endocrine disrupting chemicals in wastewater and sludgesamples has been completed. Environmental estrogens such as nonylphenol and its ethoxylates, octylpheno, bisphenol A, estradiol and its metabolites, at various levels, have been found in all the samples collected in the Toronto area. Major industrial sources of noriylphenol and bisphenol A have also been identified. The data generated in this work are used, in part, to establish the guidelines for the industrial wastewater quality regarding nonylphenol in the City Bylaws"--Management perspective.
