"On 25 April 1985, storm force winds developed over the waters in and around Hecate Strait, resulting in 3 deaths and the loss of up to 7 vessels. This paper briefly examines the synoptic situation surrounding the development and intensification of the low pressure system, and the manner in which the Pacifc Weather Centre (PWC) responded to this system."
