"A procedure originally designed to test the effectiveness of in situ biocides was evaluated as a possible environmental toxicity assessment procedure. The ECHA Biocide Monitor was applied to 94 sediment extracts and compared to three well documented toxicant assessment procedures; Microtox, Daphnia magna and Spirillum volutans.
