520 |a"The Aquatic Ecosystems Protection Branch of the National Water Research Institute provides research and development support to manufacturers of environmental technology, through cost-recovery arrangements. The report that follows presents results of one of such projects dealing with the development and testing of a new catchbasin designed to enhance urban stormwater quality and, thereby, to contribute to the protection of receiving waters. The performance of this new design in trapping suspended solids and floatables was evaluated in comparison to the conventional design. After extensive modifications of the original G3 design, some improvement over the conventional design was achieved, but only for smaller flows. The significance of this improvement with respect to long-term performance and cost effectiveness remains to be determined"--Management perspective.
