Preliminary report of the 1970 excavations conducted at Fort Wellington National Historic Park, Prescott, Ontario / by William Dendy.: R61-2/7-76E-PDF
"During the summer of 1970, emergency excavations were conducted at Fort Wellington National Historic Park. The area tested lay along the former shoreline of the St. Lawrence River and was associated with the site of a water battery destroyed in the 1850s. Excavation uncovered two house foundations and an unidentified stone feature. These features could not be directly related to the military occupation of the area. No such features were located. Following the excavations a modern drainage system was built across the area."--Abstract, page 2.
