"A one-day seminar was held on April 6 in St. John's and again on April 8 in Gander, Newfoundland. The subject, "Advances in Small-Scale Refuse Incinerators", was specifically requested by the Newfoundland Department of Provincial Affairs and Environment as a potential solution to solid waste problems presently experienced in the province. Subjects included Incinerator Design, Costs and Benefits, Federal and Provincial Air Pollution Standards and detailed descriptions of the common small-scale incinerators in use today. No doubt the reader will find the subject matter is applicable to many other parts of rural Canada and it is for that reason that these proceedings are made available to all who are interested"--Abstract.
