"The Honourable David C. Dingwall, Minister responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, recently announced that a federal interdepartmental task force had been formed to develop, in consultation with the housing industry, export strategies that will help Canadian companies to compete successfully in the international marketplace and create jobs. The Housing Export Strategies Task Force is pleased to enclose a copy of the paper which has been prepared to support consultations that are being undertaken as a first step toward the development of these strategies. The paper provides a context for the consultations and contains a cross-section of ideas that participants may wish to take into account during the consultation process. The paper also summarizes views that have been expressed by representatives of Canadian government departments and agencies, non-governmental organizations and firms engaged in commercial endeavours abroad."--Transmittal letter signed by Douglas A.
