"Recent recommendations of the New Brunswick Committee for Environmental Monitoring of Forest (Insect) Control Operations and advisory correspondence from the federal interdepartmental Atlantic Region Pesticides Advisory Committee reflect concerns about the environmental effects of current fenitrothion use in forestry. Those professional concerns and perceived public unease about the environmental “safety” of that insecticide prompted a decision by Conservation and Protection, Environment Canada, Atlantic Region to sponsor a review of the environmental effects of fenitrothion spraying"--Preamble, page 4.
