Execution management and plan adaptation system / Mohamad K. Allouche, Renee Chow, DRDC Valcartier.: D68-6/322-2013E-PDF

"This document describes the work that has been done under the Joint Command Decision Support for the 21st Century Technology Demonstration Program (JCDS21 TDP) on plan execution management and adaptation. The developed tool, EMPA (Execution Management and Plan Adaptation), is integrated within the JCDS21 core test bed and interacts with other tools such as the planning tool COPlanS (Collaborative Operations Planning System) and the resource management tool TRV (Total Resource Visibility). EMPA allows the user to audit a plan ready for execution by managing tasks and goals. The user can add new tasks, assign new resources to tasks and also add goals that must be met during the execution of the plan. It also allows the monitoring of the plan execution, which includes adapting the schedule, re-assignment of resources, adding and deleting tasks, and sending a request for re-planning if there are no available options to fix the current plan. From an operational point of view, EMPA gives a real-time status of the plan execution and allows the user to identify the causes that may lead to a plan failure"--Abstract, page i.
