"A study was conducted by the National Water Research Institute, Environment Canada to determine the source of E. coli responsible for beach postings at Bluffer’s Park Beach in Toronto from 2005 to 2007. The study applied an approach based on beach observations, groundwater studies, E. coli enumeration, and two microbial source tracking (MST) techniques (antibiotic resistance analyses and rep-PCR DNA fingerprinting of E. coli)"--Introduction, page 6.
