Comparison of wave climate models / M.G. Skafel and C.T. Bishop.: En13-5/91-101E-PDF

"Wave estimates from several simple one-dimensional and one two-dimensional parametric numerical wave prediction models are compared to wave data from various sites on the Great Lakes and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The one dimensional models use various algorithms based on steady state wave prediction relations and provide wave information at one site only. The two-dimensional model solves the momentum balance equation for the whole water body. In most cases, wind data are available from overwater sensors at or near the site for which the wave predictions are made"--Abstract.
