"It was decided to determine if minor modifications to the dragrake would lessen the ecological impact on Chondrus populations. A study was initiated in 1978 to test the hypothesis that minor modifications to the traditional dragrake would have significant effects on both ecological impact and fishing success. Presented below are data from studies carried out during 1978 and 1979"--Introduction.
