"This study has three interrelated objectives. First, the study draws together up-to-date information concerning the book industry which is necessary as a basis for assessing existing and alternative federal policy initiatives. Second, the study examines the effectiveness of existing policy initiatives, both federal and provincial, with particular emphasis on the 1985 guidelines concerning foreign investment in the industry.
