5203 |a"In the Beaufort Sea meteorological and ice conditions play a major role in the distribution of oceanographic properties. Field studies were conducted during the summer of 1974 ("worst ice conditions on record") as well as during the spring and summer of 1975 ("good ice conditions"). The discharge from the Mackenzie River dominates the surface waters of the southern Beaufort Sea, especially during bad ice years. The density distribution is salinity dominated throughout the system"--Abstract.
