"In its first ten years, Canada's approach to the heady possibilities opened up by the Space Age has given this country a space research record respected around the world. The four made-in-Canada scientific satellites, beginning with Alouette I in 1962 and concluding with ISIS ll in 1971, established Canada's place in space. All four worked perfectly, carried out their missions beyond the most optimistic of pre-launch expectations and contributed enormously to scientific knowledge of the upper atmosphere"--page [4].
