Cohesive profile erosion by waves / C.T. Bishop, M.G. Skafel and R. Nairn.: En13-5/92-24E-PDF
"A large part of the Great Lakes shoreline consists of cohesive materials, especially till. These shorelines are typically characterized by an eroding backshore bluff and a small beach; cohesive material underlays the beach of sandy material. These shorelines erode in a manner that is fundamentally different from sandy shorelines. The tests described here in are the first laboratory tests to document the relationships between waves, water levels, and erosion of cohesive shores. Preliminary results were used in the Erosion Processes Evaluation report for the IJC Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River Levels Reference Study Board"--Management Perspective.
