"The purpose of this handbook is to bring together, under one cover, selected statistical information on the telecommunications sector, which may serve as a quick source of reference for departmental personnel. As a prototype this issue has a number of deficiencies, including the omission of selected statistics pertaining to the radio and television broadcasting industry and to CATV. It is our intention to produce an annual version of the handbook and comments on items for future inclusion are invited"--Preface, page [i].
