"The Nicomekl-Serpentine basin study was initiated in 1967 as a representative basin study under the International Hydrological Decade program, file reference number IWB-RB-2; BC-4. Within the lowlands of the basin all drilled wells are flowing; the lowlands are underlain by more than 300 m (1000 ft) of unconsolidated sediments"--Introduction, page 1.
