Water quality surveys on the Niagara River - 1974 / C.H. Chan.: En36-508/48E-PDF

"Five water quality surveys were carried out from July to December of 1974 at Niagara-on-the-Lake to examine the cross-sectional, downstream and seasonal variation of the water chemistry of the mouth of the Niagara River. Sixteen surface water samples were collected for three consecutive days on each survey. The water samples were analyzed for nutrients, dissolved major ions, heavy metals and organic contaminants. Variance analysis of the results indicates that there is no lateral or cross-sectional variation in the water chemistry and that the variability in the water quality of the Niagara River is both parameter and season dependent"--Abstract, page v.
